NOTE: Please read all. We have included some updates.
ALL GCF League games must be played (last day is Sunday, May 4th) AND their scores must be entered into GotSoccer by midnight on Monday, May 5th in order to qualify for Division III playoffs. Due to weather this past weekend (May 3rd), Divisions I/II have through Sunday, May 18th to play their games in order to qualify for first/second place. All scores must be entered by 7 pm on Monday, May 19th.
QUALIFYING - Some Clarifications
First off, if a game is not played, just leave the score blank and it will be considered as "not played" for the standings. Do NOT enter a score of 0-0.
The ultimate goal is for all of the games to be played. So if your team has missing games, you are free to play these games through Sunday, May 18th.
Division I/II Awards
Awards will be given to the top two teams in each division (1st and 2nd place).
NOTE: Original plans were for a Division I playoff this spring between three leagues (GCF, NFYSL and BYSL). That couldn't be arranged for this spring but we will have it starting in the Fall.
Division III Playoffs
Games will be played on Saturday, May 10th. Location will be at the Dewey O'Boster Soccer Complex (Deltona). The schedule will be up by Wednesday, May 7th.
1st place vs 4th place and 2nd place vs 3rd place for four team playoff divisions
2nd place vs 3rd place for three team playoff divisions
Semifinal winner A vs Semifinal winner B for four team playoff divisions
1st place vs semifinal winner of 2nd place vs 3rd place for three team playoff divisions
NOTE: Age groups with two divisions will send the top four teams from each grouping. There will be a winner from each group. There will NOT be a third game between the winners of each group.
NOTE for Division III
Division 3 playoffs will be set from the standings as of midnight on Monday, May 5. The top 4 teams will be invited. Divisions that are split into Red and Blue will have the top 4 from each invited. If your team is invited and cannot play, please email the 1stVP@gcfsoccer.com ASAP so that the next team in the standings can be invited. It would be really disappointing if we get no-shows when another team could have filled in. Invites and seeding will be sent out by Tuesday, May 6th.
That being said, the ultimate goal is for all of the games to be played. So if your Division 3 team has missing games, you are free to play these games through Sunday, May 18th. The games will count in the regular season standings, but we just won't be able to turn back time and get you into the playoffs. It is unfortunate that all games weren't able to be played before the tournament, but hopefully this will help everyone get their eight spring league games in.
